I read and review this book for educational purposes, to give outsiders and beginners a good idea of what to expect.I may as well start here: I tremendously enjoyed this read. The author writes with authority and passion and she knows her audience. The book writes for a needful yet underserved audience (crime and abuse victims) but makes sure her material can be used by anyone. Kaelin addresses a wide range of cultural and religious influences and treats them with the utmost respect. She addresses the moral and political issues of our time bravely and bluntly. If you want to hear what is pejoratively termed "white light" or "fluffy bunny" magic, this is not for you. Kaelin recognizes the value of rage, hatred, and dark, negative energy in spellcraft and in emotional healing. The book is divided into different categories of abuses, namely seedy landlords, police brutality, abusive spouses and partners, etc. If you have a need, you will probably find it here. Low on fluff, high on content, it reads almost like a novel and Kaelin talks almost like a friend and sage.
Warning: Kaelin addresses this multiple times throughout the book, but it can't hurt for me to address it as well. This book contains theological notions and rituals that purport to cause harm or death. Even if you don't believe that magic has the power to do these things, you may have to consider that engaging in these practices could be against your current religion or that it might be corrosive spiritually or emotionally. The answers to those questions will, of course, depend on the reader. Read wisely.

I am so amazed with this book. Some of the things in the book, I have been thinking of and it's surprising that someone else writes exactly & more clearly how things really work in this reality and spiritually as well. Strongly recommend to read especially for those who are going thru bad experiences in their lives.
Ok...why does this book only have three Stars hmm... Well anyways this is not only a great book, but it's also a necessary book to own. I feel that there is a big difference between black/dark magick and sinister magick. Nothing about this book is sinister or wrong. As a human you have the right to utilize natural law and protect yourself against those who seek to harm you and this book will give you the power to make that happen. Now the spells in this book are mostly Hoodoo in nature (but not limited to hoodoo) so there is some christian undertone to it(remember the bible is just a big ol' spell book anyways) . Her chapter on police brutality was very insightful and one of her methods to stop police brutality is by casting out the evil entity (by word of power) that may be influencing them. I like that fact that she goes into depth with the spells. Some of the topics and spells feature are Conjuring Power through Rage,Transferring Etheric Force from One Object to Another, Dragon Guard, Stopping White Collar Criminals, Santa Muerte,Binding Spell, Break Glamour of Institutions, Bad Marriage, Abusive Relationship, Stop rape, Employment of Daemons and much much more.
I also own Dorothy Morrison "Utterly Wicked Curses, Hexes & Other Unsavory Notions" and "The Little Book of Curses and Maledictions for Everyday Use" and I feel the that this book is more detail,clear and serious in tone. The author also give you rituals and advice on protection and dealing with trauma.
So all in all I like this book and i'm very happy that I purchased it.

this lady is a great writer, I purchased another of her books, the only disappointment was I was hoping for one spell for dead beat, clients But I felt her frustration with the government systems, in place today. it gives you an outlet for that. I liked her no nonsense, style of writing. I will be ordering other books she has penned.
Finally, a practitioner that understands!!! If you are a crime survivor this is the book for you. If the system keeps failing you as it has me, please read this book.
I only needed a little guidance here as I don't want to get into trouble. The troublesome neighbors settled. There was no actual revenge. I really like the way Ms. Kaelin presented and explained the material.
If you've been a victim of a crime or horrible attack of ANY sort--physical, emotional, or psychic--that's left you devastated, damaged, or feeling powerless, then this gem offers help. In particular, if you lack resources or the court system has failed you, this book is worth your time. It presents metaphysical stratagems to balance energy and mete justice in your favor. My wish for you is that you find peace and be forever protected, loved and safe. Good luck on your healing journey.
Worth buying! Not only is it great for protection, but there’s also some tips on how to better yourself as a witch and how to overcome trauma. This book is mostly catered to those who deal with abusive people, unjust law enforcement, poor or bad neighborhoods with a lot of crime, and seeking justice against your enemies. It also includes prayers and information on multiple deities you can work with. Hopefully the above situations don’t apply to you, but never hurts to know what steps to take to protect your home and your self. Great book for my witchcraft/spell collection and has a beautiful design to it and work great information. Highly recommend.
