This is the 2nd in Amish Home Valley series by Karen Harper. I've read other books by her and really enjoy her writing, history, and 'romance' in her books. This series has murders and that's what drew me to them. Her books have a touch of violence (after all it has murder) and the sexual content is not so over the top that it doesn't distract from the plot of the story. It gives an 'interlude' from the intensity of solving the crime. The Amish ways are fascinating to me and give the books great cultural comparisons. There is another series called Cold Creek that I will be starting after completing this Home Valley series ( set in Ohio).

I enjoyed the story and back story of Hannah Esh, who has been in the 'other' world and is now thrown back into the Amish way. One of her worldly friends is murdered, one injured and she has a shattered wrist from a sniper hit in the Amish cemetery on Halloween night. The Sheriff, her once before 'come-calling' friend, Seth Lantz and an FBI agent are all into the investigation as well as Hannah. I had figured out one of the 'who done it' people, but the other one caught me completely by surprise. Good Job, Ms. Harper. Looking forward to reading the next one.

I do enjoy learning about the different lifestyles and backgrounds of others. She does a good job of doing that. I hope she continues writing, and I will continue reading.
Very well written fast paced
Karen Harper did a fabulous job. This mystery romance kept me up late reading. It was well written and kept me sitting on the edge of my seat. I recommend this one to anyone who enjoys Amish novels/mystery romance.

This story kept my attention from beginning to end. Great characters, lots of action, and an unusual setting. I read the book before this one and enjoyed it as well, but this one was definitely superior. Fun read.
First time reading this author. Really enjoyed this book. After Hannah's heart was broken, she left the Amish world. Her return home was not what anyone expected. Mystery and romance, clean no smut.
Karen really did a wonderful job with "Return to Grace." This book covers - family, family relationships, good downright Amish traditions, hate, deception, caring, romance and murder. The author has melted an array of so many of life's experiences that it almost makes one feel, this could happen in my hometown. The story begins with a murder in a graveyard with a group of goths; things then begin to evolve when a young Amish lady who left the family to find her life's ambition - to be a professional singer when things start to happen. The thread of romance infiltrates and permiates the book and bounces back and forth between Hannah's two men friends, one of long standing; the other a newby. The description of the various scenes is so realistic especially when Karen is describing the falling snow and later towards the end of a book the horrible - well, I won't tell you what happens, you'll just have to read the book to see for yourself. As the story moves along you will change your mind, several times about the sheriff, the FBI agent, Lilly, Arrowhead, Susan and others. This book does not lead you down a single path; it has many, many turns and that's what makes it such an excellent read. My congratulations to Karen Harper for doing such a superb job with this book. Kudos to you Karen!! I encourage, urge you to read this book; I promise you, you will be entertained, you will be shocked, you will cry and yes, you will laugh. Get it, read it, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
